A New Era for all of you Harry Potter fans and Twilighters. Make some room! The famous
novel, The Hunger Games, presents a forest like theme as of Twilight as teenagers fight till the
end for riches, fame and privileges for their district.
Suznna Collins, the author, came up with the inspiration of “The Hunger Games” from flipping
around channels on T.V. Can you believe that?! One of the channels she saw was a reality
competition show like The Challenge that show skills and strategy over a course of some hard-
core competition.
More inspiration of this amazing author came from a footage she saw of an invasion in Iraq.
Ideas of the book just started pouring on to a sheet of paper with a simple pen. The plot consists
of two main characters: Katniss Everdeen & Peeta Mellark, who are selected from District 12 to
fight in the Hunger Games. Through their journey, they learn survival techniques as they train
for the Hunger Games.
If you’re getting thrilled about reading this book, you better hurry up and buy a copy. The first
book originally had 50,000 printings, but had to bump up the copies to 200,000 copies. If you’re
not the “reading” type, you’re probably thinking, “Well, I just want to see it in theatres”. Well,
in the 1st weekend, The Hunger Games sold a whopping $14.5 million tickets, sales reaching
number one for four weeks straight. So if you’re one of those, “I don’t know if this movie will be
any good” The sales show how great this action-packed movie really is.
The Hunger Games trilogy will have you sitting on the edge of your seat the whole time, Never
wanting to stop reading OR watching. It’s a must that you get into this new era of teenage saga,
starting with the newest trilogy: The Hunger Games.
